MM2H VISA PROGRAMME

What is MM2H?
Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme is a project launched by the government of Malaysia, to encourage foreigners that fulfill a certain criteria, to move and stay in Malaysia for as long as possible on a multiple-entry social visit pass.


What are the benefits?
1. Open to all citizens of countries recognised by Malaysia, regardless of race, religion, gender or age.
2. The Social Visit Pass is initially for a period of ten (10) years according to validity of passport, and is renewable. (RM90/year)
3. Tax exemption for car-import & purchase of car made or assembled in Malaysia.
4. Able to conduct business or work part-time.
5. Able to open bank account and earn interest.
6. Can purchase house priced above RM500,000.00 per unit depending on location of property, price update effective 1st January 2010.
7. Employment Pass holders who wish to apply are exempted from the cooling off period subject to they have to submit their
applications 3 months before the expiry of the employment pass.
8. ID card will be issued to successful applicants. This is validated by submitting the Sales & Purchase or Tenancy agreement in Malaysia.

How to apply?
Foreign citizens may apply directly or use the services of MM2H agents licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia.


Terms & Condition
1. 50 years old and above

  Step 1 - Documents required for approval
- Letter of application and indicate your intention to join MM2H.
Briefly explain how you will support your stay in Malaysia (financial capabilities)
- Resume with 10 years of working experience - including Academic qualification, working experiences and skills or expertise acquired.
- One (1) copy of application form for MM2H Programme from Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.
- Three (3) copies of Visit Pass Application Form (IM12).
- Four (4) colored passport size photographs.
- Certified copy of passport (all pages). Certified copies of old passport (all pages), if passport just renewed within the last twelve (12) months.
- Letter of good conduct from your relevant government agency.
(In case of application through licensed agent, this document can be waived. In case of direct application, this document is compulsory)
- Self declaration on your/dependants health conditions (fill in form)
- Certified copy of marriage certificate (if accompanied by spouse).
- Certified copy of birth certificate (if accompanied by children).
- Letter of Confirmation from Medical Specialist/General Practitioner (if accompanied by disabled children above 21 years old);
- Statutory Declaration by principal applicant to bear all expenses and financial requirements for dependents during their stay in Malaysia;
- Certified copies of latest three (3) months Bank statements with minimum amount of RM350,000.00 and above ( inclusive of the
fixed deposit of RM150,000.00).
- Those retired are required to show proof of receiving pension from government approved funds of RM 10,000 per month.
- Latest three (3) months certified copies monthly pension or income with the Bank passbook and other related financial documents
e.g. share, house etc. to indicate your financial means to support your stay in Malaysia.
(Company Account not accepted except personnel account)

   
  Step 2 - After visa approval letter received from Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia Kuala Lumpur
- Open Fixed deposit Account of amount RM150,000 to be deposited in Malaysia Bank (one year period)
- New applicants who have purchased Malaysian properties worth at least RM 1 million fully paid, qualify to place a lower fixed deposit amount upon approval.
- Original letter from Bank with the Bank's letter head and duly signed upon opening of Fixed Deposit.
- Required to open Saving Account due to interest from Fixed Deposit will be automatically transferred to the saving account.
- Medical check-up - Form RB II
- Purchase of medical insurance
- Fulfill Security Bond requirement (Direct Applicant only)
   
2. Below 50 years old

  Step 1 - Documents required for approval
   
- Letter of application and indicate your intention to join MM2H.
- Briefly explain how you will support your stay in Malaysia (financial capabilities)
- Resume with 10years of working experience (include Academic qualification, working experiences and skills or expertise acquired)
- One (1) copy of application form for MM2H Programme from Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.
- Three (3) copies of Visit Pass Application Form (IM12).
- Four (4) colored passport size photographs.
- Certified copy of passport (all pages). Certified copies of old passport (all pages), if passport just renewed within the last twelve (12) months.
- Letter of good conduct from your relevant government agency.

- Latest three (3) months certified copies monthly salary or income slips of RM10,000.00 above with the Bank passbook and other related financial documents e.g. share, house etc. to indicate your financial means to support your stay in Malaysia. (Company Account not accepted except personnel account)
   
  Step 2 - After visa approval letter received from Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Kuala Lumpur
- Open Fixed deposit Account of amount RM300,000.00 to be deposited in Malaysia Bank (one year period)
- New applicants who have purchased Malaysian properties worth at least RM 1 million fully paid, qualify to place a lower fixed deposit amount upon approval.
- Original letter from Bank with the Bank's letter head and duly signed upon opening of Fixed Deposit.
- Required to open Saving Account due to interest from Fixed Deposit will be automatically transferred to the saving account.

3. Child (below 21years old & not married)
- Covering letter from MM2H agent and from MM2H Visa holder.
- Two (2) copies of Visit Pass Application Form (IM 12).
- Two (2) colored passport size photographs.
- Certified copy of marriage /birth certificate.
- Certified copies of passport - spouse / child.
- Photostat copies I/C of MM2H agent.
- Personal bond.
  Note : Required 14 days for immigration to approve.
   
4. Parents (above 60 years old) - Under the MM2H Visa Holder
- Covering letter from MM2H agent and from MM2H Visa holder.
- Sponsorship form from MM2H agent (acknowledgment letter from sponsor)
- Photocopy IC of agent (Malaysian citizen).
- Personal bond .
- Guarantee form from MM2H Visa Holder (acknowledgment letter from guarantor)
- Two (2) IM 12 & IM 38 forms.
- Two (2) colored passport size photographs.
- Photocopies of passport (all pages)
- Photocopies of MM2H Holder passport - picture & visa page
- Photocopy of MM2H visa approval letter from holder of MM2H.
- Certified copies of marriage or birth certificate to proof the relationship of applicants and holder of MM2H Visa.
  Note : Required 3 working days for immigration to approve.
